Meal Prep Tuesday

Hey guys!!

Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather!! Summer is finally here and we are enjoying ourselves for sure!

Yesterday was an amazing day, we all made our way to the private beach near Brad’s house. Michael and Brad biked while Shan and I drove.embarassed.gif

Yes we both could have biked but we HAD to go to scholars choice to brouse about all their teacher accessories!! How fun… I know we’re kinda lame but we’re definitely okay with it. Being in their sparked our inner childness – PLUS we had to make a much needed stop to Timmie’s for an icecap.

It was a wonderful day.. so thankful for our friendship.

Anyways today is now Tuesday.. almost hump day and I am trying to get organized and reset. Laundry is done, dishes are done and now some meal prep planning and maybe even some weekly planing. One thing you should know about me is that I am a cook and LOVE food. I am constantly chasing new and exciting healthy recipes. I went to school for culinary management and graduated this April and now I am just swimming down the river of endless possibilities (more blog posts to come on my love for nutrition & fitness).

Meal prepping is one of my FAVOURITE activities. Its planning out a menu for your week – super important for organization in my life. I really should have done my meal prep on Sunday…. but its okay and I am starting today. Better late than never right?

I like to get out a piece of paper and jot down the recipes I have chosen for my meals and split the page to also show my grocery list. Here is a picture of one in progress… I will post a completed version once I am finished. 18817531_10154835189337515_2059292804_o.jpg lol… very simple but that’s all it takes!! I like to change up what I eat every week and I am always looking for new recipes so please share your all time fave recipes with us!

In my next post I will link you to all the recipes I used this week as well!

Until then… enjoy your day! Remember to take time to embrace the little things 🙂

Em just put on an amazing song and we are hanging out in the apartment that she shares with Michael. Michael and my Brad are out on a walk/bike ride/longboard… restless adventure, while Em and I talk blog posts, diy ideas and even some video ideas for a potential YouTube channel.

We’ve decided to just jump in to our ideas and start doing the things we love.

Tonight we decided to go through Em’s old art and sketches. We were both really inspired by the creativity that was flowing through our conversation and decided to start writing our ideas down. We were excited enough that the guys joined in and we ended up doodling together.

We decided to swap papers after a minute of doodling, and decided to call it doodle swapping. Each person would take a minute to DOODLE, then swap paper as each minute goes by and stop when you get your original paper back…

These were our results

This was a really fun exercise and it was quite therapeutic! Brad is a social service worker and this is an exersice he used in group sessions to build stronger relationships and develop further conversation. It was great and we would like to continue to create pictures like this!
I hope everyone is a little inspired by our fun filled doodle night!

***also!!!! Let us know if you think anyone would be interested in prints of our artwork (doodles and other)*** we would love to start showing our art to the world and I think this would be a great place to start! Helpful hints or tips would be great!! Thanks!! ❤

Going for a walk is always the answer…

Hello all!!!!

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday! I don’t know why I am up so early, I tried to fall back asleep but my mind just kept racing with everything I needed/wanted to get done and this blog post was one of them!

This is my very first blog post and I feel as though I have kept putting it off for too long maybe because I was worried it wasn’t going to be what I wanted it to be. But, I’m over it and I really just want to actually start blogging so here I am. giphy.gif

This week was pretty busy between work and getting things done around the apartment & it just seems that things keep piling up even though I’m finished school now. I thought once school was done my life would be a lot easier! Which- it is but now there’s other things to worry about like choosing between different career paths and which bank I want to bank with, and how much I can spend on groceries a week blah blah blah … adult stgiphy-downsizeduff.

It really isn’t that bad, it’s really just about spending your time wisely and having a schedule (which I need and want to have). So I’m opening it up to anyone to let us know how you plan your week, how you set it up and any suggestions on how you achieve your goals and expectations in life lol.

Shan & I and our lads didn’t even get the chance to hangout this weekgiphy-downsized (1)
& I feel like my week was a lot shittier because of it. Last week we spent a couple of days
together and it made the week a lot BETTER because we had the chance to go for walks and talk about the summer and the list could go on about all the fun things we have lined up to do (which we will be sharing with you at some point). Plus I had some girl time!!

Girl time is very important in a relationship so I have learned. When Mike and I first started dating we spent every free second we had with each other. Then when I went to school away from home our time together was very limited and almost non-existent but it was good for our relationship because it helped us learn that we don’t need to be together all the time to maintain a healthy relationship. When I moved back home eventually we got back into the routine of always being together because it is very hard in the relationship world to find friends that want to hangout with you as a couple let alone find people who you actually WANT to hangout with.

It is very nice to have a companion who you can spend every second with and not get sick of but time with other people is IMPORTANT. We have a lot in common with Shannen and Brad and hanging out with them has been awesome because I still feel like I am hanging out with Michael but I’m also having my girl time. Maybe in the future I will write a better post on that subject because hanging out with people that are cool and awesome that you genuinely want to hangout with and have things in common with is so nice. Anyways….

Last week we got to go for a walk with them and it was much needed. I had just had a long day at work and didn’t even feel like leaving the house –

but I am so happy I did! Walks are always the answer.

When you’re bored – go for a walk.

When you’re stressed – go for a walk.

When you’ve had a bad day – go for a walk.

I felt so much better after spending time with them and just walking around without a destination.

Now that it’s getting warmer we are all looking forward to planning bike trips and doing more things outdoors.

Anyways… that is all for now but thank-you for reading if you made it this far and congratulations to me for finally posting.

DANGER…. first post ever!

This is my cat Jackery (Roo)! He likes to hunt birds from inside the comforts of his palace.

Photo Challege – The Daily Post

Hey everybody!

I figured this suspensful and potentially dangerous picture would serve well as my first blog post… ever.  But before we talk about my sweet Roo, a little introduction…

My dear friend Emily and I have decided to start a blog about our life. This is something we have both thought about for a long time but have never pursued.

Bicycling and adventuring, finding small, unexplored places is what this blog is inspired from. I am not, by any means, professional or really coordinated when it comes to bike riding, but Emily and our two other halves (insert dreamy, floating, heart bubbles here… giphy-downsized-large (1)), have found such joy, in just these past few weeks of good spring weather, exploring a city I have lived in my entire life. On a bike, there are so many little treasures you can find that you wouldn’t ever notice otherwise.

We will be posting photos of our adventures, but because this is the cycle series, we will be embracing all things life and posting really anything we want to share. We are interested in DIY projects; big and small. We like gardening and painting and journaling, scrapbooking, hiking, and dancing.

We are so excited to start this adventure and hopefully find some good friends along the way, to explore this world with us.

Back to the whole reason I decided to take the leap and finally post something….

My sweet Jackaroo is pictured here hunting a bird…. giphy

I picked this picture to represent the Photo Challege prompt, DANGER!

I will explain Jackaroo in more depth in future posts, I’m sure… but here is a picture of my handsome Jack in a less aggressive state:

Thanks for reading! 🙂
